UWO - Retirement 1993
... we are recognizing and commemorating my colleagues, my
friends ... who are so much a fabric of this institution that
we should pause and reflect especially on their contributions
and their value. All of them came to us from far off places.
... it is in people that the monuments and the real records
of a teacher's and a scholar's and a performer's career is
written ... Damjana ... has a wealth of knowledge and reading
and an appetite for interest, which is astounding to me and,
I think, absolutely unique. To meet Damjana by chance in the
office or the corridor is for me usually a humbling experience
because she almost always begins, "Have you read ...
" [laughter]
