… I do recall having a measure of awe at the breadth of your interests and competence - both when we met at CFPL, and again at the University.
I thought then that there was something highly unusual about you - a kind of naiveté combined with a strong personality and intellect. To that was added a European classical education - which I had not encountered before.
I have often felt that any teacher who commands the respect of her students years after their graduation, as you do, is a person that one is privileged to know.
